  • Further Info

Fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) commonly affects both toenails and fingernails and occur when fungi invade and infect the nail bed, causing changes in the nail's appearance, texture, and health.

They can develop due to various factors, including:

    • Moisture: Prolonged exposure to damp environments, such as swimming pools, gym rooms and harsh nail treatment colourants and adhesives
    • Footwear: Wearing tight shoes that hinder air circulation or not changing socks daily.
    • Nail Trauma: Injuries to the nail can provide an entry point for fungi.  Salon drills that are not sterilized pose a high risk of fungal contamination.
    • Underlying Health Conditions: Diabetes, psoriasis, or a weakened immune system can increase the risk.

Common indicators of a fungal nail infection include:

    • Discoloration of the nail, often turning yellow, brown, or white.
    • Nail sensitivity or discomfort on touch.
    • Thickened or brittle nail texture.
    • Distorted nail shape or lifting of the nail from the nail bed.
    • An unpleasant odour emanating from the affected area.

If you suspect a fungal nail infection, it's essential to begin using FunGo Nail Oil.  It is advisable to consult a health care professional and take your FunGo Nail oil along with you so they may see what you are using for your medical notes.

  • Salon Specific

FunGo Nail can be used in a general manicure and pedicure treatment style where nails are painful and affected by a fungal infection and can be used at the end of the manicure/pedicure service.

It is strongly advised that customers continue to use this product up to three times a day (especially at night before bed) and they abstain from using colour, in order to give the nail bed a chance to heal quicker.
